Googles Mobile Ready Deadline Looms – Are You Ready?

Responsive Website Design

As you may know Google has recently been recommending that websites are mobile friendly, this is because well over 50% of people browsing the web now do so using a mobile device. However, they didn’t give any indication when this needed to be done by, until now:

Google has issued a date of the 21st of April 2015 along with the following statement:

“…Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results…”

“…{mobile friendly sites} will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results…”

You can read more of their statement here: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/finding-more-mobile-friendly-search.html

What If My Site Isn’t Mobile Friendly?
If you get a ‘Not Mobile Friendly’ result this means that after the 21st of April Google may drop your site in its mobile search results and you will see a reduction in visitors.
